Description
The FOFOS Fruity Bites Treat Dispensing Dog Toy is a moulded fruit with an open lattice body. Treats sit inside where the dog can see and smell them, and the only way out is to roll, paw and gnaw at it.

Why Make A Dog Work For Food
- A dog that has to solve something for its dinner gets tired in a way a walk does not achieve. Ten minutes of sniffing and problem-solving settles most dogs better than another lap of the block
- It also slows eating down, which matters for dogs that bolt their food and for deep-chested breeds where fast eating and gulped air are a risk factor
- Feed part of the daily ration this way rather than adding treats on top. The food is the same, the effort is what changes
Loading It
- Start easy. Load it loosely and let the first few goes be quick wins, or a dog that gets nothing gives up on the toy
- Small, hard treats work best. Anything soft smears inside the lattice and is a nuisance to clean out
- Wedge one slightly larger piece at the opening to slow a fast dog down, or leave it loose for a beginner
- Wash it out after every use so old food does not sit in the cavity
Good To Know
- Thermoplastic rubber (TPR) is soft enough to give under the teeth and firm enough to hold its shape
- Count whatever you put inside as part of the day's food, not on top of it, or the weight creeps up
- It is a treat toy rather than a chew. Take it away once the lattice splits
- Check it over for splits and deep gouges before each session and replace it when the surface breaks
- Supervise play and take the toy away once it starts to come apart. No dog toy is indestructible, and swallowed pieces can cause a blockage
