Description
The FOFOS Woodplay Bone Dog Toy is the smaller of the Woodplay bones, moulded from real wood fibre and non-toxic plastic with pine scent through it, and sized for small and medium dogs.

What It Is Made Of
- FOFOS's Woodplay range is a moulded composite of real wood fibre and non-toxic plastic, with natural pine scent through it. It is not a cut branch
- That is the point of it. A real stick splinters into sharp lengths; this is designed to wear down into small granules instead
- The pine smell is what gets most dogs interested in the first place, and it is why the toy keeps working after the novelty of the shape wears off
About The Dental Claim
- FOFOS describe the textured surface as massaging gums and helping with plaque, and chewing anything firm does rub the outer faces of the teeth
- It does not reach below the gumline, where periodontal disease actually happens, and it will not shift hardened tartar
- Useful alongside brushing. Not a substitute for it, and not a substitute for a vet dental once tartar has formed
Why Over A Year Old
- FOFOS recommend it from about twelve months. Puppy teeth and the adult teeth coming through behind them are easily damaged by anything this firm
- For a teething puppy, a soft rubber or a frozen cloth is the safer answer
Good To Know
- FOFOS rate the Woodplay range for moderate chewers, not for determined destroyers
- Take it away once it is chewed down small enough to swallow whole, the same as you would with any chew
- Some dogs swallow the granules as they come off. If yours does that in quantity, this is not the right toy for them
- Supervise play and take the toy away once it starts to come apart. No dog toy is indestructible, and swallowed pieces can cause a blockage
