JurassiPet JurassiClean Reptile Enclosure Cleaner is an enzyme and bacteria based cleaner for reptile and amphibian enclosures, in a 250 ml spray or a 1 litre bottle.

Key Features

• Enzymes and bacteria rather than bleach: It digests the waste instead of burning it off. JurassiPet build it around odour-fighting bacteria and enzymes, which is why it carries on working on a stain while it soaks rather than only while you are scrubbing.
• Made for a sealed glass box: Household cleaners leave residues and fumes, and an animal sitting in an enclosure has nowhere to get away from either. That is the reason to use this over whatever is under the sink.
• Takes on the things that actually build up: Urates, droppings and the film that forms on glass and on decor.
• Lime and citrus oils: JurassiPet scent it with natural lime and citrus oils, so the enclosure smells of citrus afterwards rather than of chlorine.
• Spray and wipe: No diluting and no measuring.

How To Use It

• Take the animal out first, along with the water and food dishes. Do not spray around an animal that is still in the enclosure.
• Spray the surfaces liberally and leave it to soak for five to fifteen minutes. The soak is what does the work, so do not rush it.
• Wipe it off thoroughly. On a stubborn stain leave it longer or go round a second time, rather than scrubbing harder.
• Let everything dry before the animal goes back in.

Good To Know

• Two sizes: 250 ml for routine wiping down, 1 litre for a full strip-out or for a rack of enclosures.
• JurassiPet describe it as free of harsh chemicals. Read that as no bleach, no ammonia and no solvents, rather than as nothing in the bottle at all. Enzymes and bacteria are chemistry too, and the harsh-fume problem is what it is built around.
• It is not a disinfectant. Breaking waste down and killing pathogens are two different jobs, so if you are cleaning up after a sick animal or dealing with an outbreak, ask your vet what to use instead.
• Keep it out of the water in a paludarium, and rinse hard surfaces well in an amphibian setup. Amphibians absorb through the skin and are far less forgiving than reptiles about anything left behind.
• Store it closed and out of direct sun. There are live bacteria in it and heat does them no favours.
