IMAC

IMAC is an Italian maker of moulded plastic pet products. The range we carry is its cat litter line, built on the Second Life plastic the company moulds from reclaimed material rather than virgin plastic.

What We Stock

• Easy Cat, a hooded box measuring 50 x 40 x 40cm with a swing door, an activated carbon filter in the lid, a fold-up carry handle and a scoop that stows on the side. We list it in anthracite and in a second Second Life colourway.
• Jerry, an open tray measuring 50 x 40 x 14.5cm with a rim that clips over the edge to hold litter and a liner in place.

Hooded Box Or Open Tray?

• A hood holds smell in and stops litter being kicked across the floor, which is why it suits a hallway or a bathroom shared with people.
• An open tray is what most cats pick when offered both, and it is easier to keep clean because you can see the contents at a glance.
• The Jerry's 14.5cm sides are low enough for a kitten or an older cat to step over. A hooded box asks a cat to push through a flap, which not every cat will do.
• Both use the same 50 x 40cm floor area, so you can swap between them without rethinking where the tray goes.

Good To Know

• The usual guidance is one tray per cat plus one spare, kept apart from each other and away from food and water bowls.
• Wash trays with hot water and a mild detergent. Ammonia-based cleaners smell like urine to a cat and can put it off the tray.
• Replace a tray once the plastic is badly scratched, because scratches hold odour however well you clean them.
• IMAC moulds this range in several colours and these listings do not let you pick one. Ask us what is in stock if the colour matters to you.
