Description
JUWEL NovoLux LED 80 Light Unit - White is a white LED strip for a small JUWEL aquarium, the NovoLux 80, fixed to the glass with suction cups and run from a mains adaptor.
Key Features
- Goes in without a hood: Suction cups onto the glass, so it suits a small or rimless tank where there is no hood for a tube to sit in.
- A white strip: A plain white strip, which is what a small tank wants for general light and for the plants in it.
- Sized to the tank: This is the NovoLux 80. The range comes in several lengths, so tell us which aquarium you have and we will confirm the fit.
- Low power: A modest light, right for a nano or a lightly planted tank. It will not run a demanding planted setup.
Fitting It And Running It
- Suction cups onto the glass, so it needs no hood. They perish in warm water and let go eventually, so check them and ask us for spares.
- Six to eight hours a day on a timer is plenty on a small tank. More hours is not a substitute for more light, and it does grow algae.
Electrical Safety
- Keep the transformer, the plug and the socket above the water line and outside the cabinet, and leave a drip loop in every cable.
- Unplug it before you put your hands in the tank or work on the hood.
Good To Know
- A modest output. If plants are not growing under it, the answer is more light rather than longer hours.
- Suction cups perish in warm water and let go. Check them occasionally and ask us for spares.
- Keep the adaptor and the plug above the water line, outside the cabinet, with a drip loop in the cable.
