JUWEL HeliaLux LED Light Unit - 550 mm - 24 W is a single-channel white LED light unit for JUWEL aquarium hoods, 550 mm long and drawing 24 W.
Key Features
- A straight white LED unit: One channel, set and left. If you want to tune colour channel by channel, that is the HeliaLux Spectrum rather than this one.
- Order it by the length: This unit is 550 mm and draws 24 W. It has to match your JUWEL hood, so tell us which aquarium you have if you are unsure.
- No tube to replace: LEDs hold their output and colour far longer than fluorescent, so there is no twelve-month replacement and no spectrum drift.
- Runs cooler than T5: Less of the energy ends up as heat in the water, which is worth having in a flat that sits at 30 degrees for half the year.
Fitting It And Running It
- Order by the measurement, not by the litres. Tell us which JUWEL aquarium you have and we will confirm it before we dispatch.
- Check what is in the box. On several JUWEL units the power supply is a separate item, and a light unit without its transformer does nothing.
- Six to eight hours a day to begin with, on a timer, building up over weeks. In a Dubai summer run them through the cooler part of the day.
Electrical Safety
- Keep the transformer, the plug and the socket above the water line and outside the cabinet, and leave a drip loop in every cable.
- Unplug it before you put your hands in the tank or work on the hood.
Good To Know
- The power supply unit is a separate item on this range. Ask us and we will confirm which one matches before you order.
- A controller is separate too. Without one the unit runs flat out whenever it is switched on, so put it on a timer at the least.
- Single channel, so the colour is fixed. LEDs do dim eventually, over years rather than months.
