Hunter Divo Dog Collar

Hunter Divo Dog Collar is the wide, padded one. The band is deliberately broad - from 4cm up to 5.5cm depending on size - so the pressure is spread over a much larger area of the neck than a thin collar manages. It has reflective material along its length and the same pull-relief design as the London range.

Getting The Fit Right

• Measure, do not guess. Run a tape around your dog's neck where the collar will sit, and compare that against the ranges above. Breed and weight are poor guides - two dogs the same weight can be two sizes apart.
• Two fingers. You should be able to slide two fingers flat between the collar and your dog's neck. Tighter than that rubs; looser and a determined dog backs out of it.
• Check it on a growing dog. Puppies outgrow a collar faster than you expect. Re-check the fit every couple of weeks until they stop growing.

Good To Know

• Pick the size and colour above. Not every colour holds every size.
• A wide collar is not the right shape for every dog. On a short-necked dog a 4.5cm band can interfere with head movement. Sighthounds and other long-necked breeds are where wide collars genuinely shine.
• Reflective is not a light. It needs headlights or a torch shining at it to do anything. On an unlit street after dark, add a lit collar.
• UAE sun is hard on webbing and plastic. Nylon and polyester fade and weaken with constant UV, and plastic clasps get brittle. Check the clasp still clicks firmly shut and look for fraying where the hardware meets the webbing. Rinse salt or pool water out and dry it in the shade rather than on a hot windowsill.
• Padding holds water and heat. Dry it fully after a swim rather than leaving it damp against the coat.
• Take it off in the crate. A collar is a snag hazard on crate bars, furniture and another dog's jaw. Off when your dog is unsupervised.
