GiGwi Place Sweet Dreams Waterproof Flat Mat Pet Bed - Blue - S

The GiGwi Place Sweet Dreams Waterproof Flat Mat Pet Bed is a plain cushioned mat with no raised sides, in waterproof Oxford fabric. It is the right shape for the dogs who sprawl rather than curl, and the fabric means a spill or an accident wipes off instead of soaking in.

Key Features

• Flat and open: No bolsters to get in the way, so a dog can stretch out fully.
• Waterproof Oxford fabric: Spills, drool and accidents sit on the surface rather than soaking through.
• Wipes clean: A damp cloth deals with most of it, which is why this shape suits puppies and older dogs.
• Cushioned base: Enough padding to keep a pet off a cold hard floor.
• Three sizes: Small, medium and large.

About the GiGwi Place Series

Place is GiGwi's bedding and pet furniture line -- cushions, mats, bolster beds and cat houses, sold in several styles, sizes and colourways so you can match the shape to how your pet actually sleeps.

Flat Mat Or Bolster?

• Flat mat -- for pets who sleep stretched out, pets who overheat, and anywhere you need an easy wipe-down.
• Bolster bed -- for pets who curl up and rest their head on something.
• A flat mat is also the easier shape for a dog with stiff joints to get on and off.

Choosing A Size

Measure your pet asleep in their favourite position, not standing, and add a few centimetres. A dog who sleeps stretched out needs a flat mat; one who curls up tightly is better off in a bolster or a hooded bed.

Good To Know

• Waterproof means the fabric resists water, not that the whole mat can be submerged. Wipe it down; do not soak it.
• Wash the cover on a cool cycle and air dry it. Hot washes and tumble drying shrink the cover and flatten the filling, and a shrunken cover will not go back on.
• Wash bedding every week or two, more often for a dog with allergies or a skin condition. Bedding is where flea eggs and dust mites collect, so it matters more than most people expect.
• A bed is not a chew toy. Puppies and determined chewers will open a seam and swallow the filling, which is a genuine blockage risk, so supervise a new bed before you leave a pet alone with it.
• Not a children's toy. Keep it with the pet's things.
