GiGwi Place Soft Flat Mat Pet Bed - Grey - S

The GiGwi Place Soft Flat Mat Pet Bed in grey is a thickly padded open mat in a woven fabric cover. There are no raised sides, which makes it the shape for pets who sleep flat out, and an easy one for an older dog or cat to step onto.

Key Features

• Thick cushioning: Deep padding that keeps a pet's weight off a hard floor rather than bottoming out under them.
• Flat and open: Nothing to climb over, which matters for a pet with stiff hips or sore joints.
• Woven fabric cover: Hard-wearing cloth, chosen to take daily use.
• Neutral grey: Easier to place in a living room than a bright colourway.
• Three sizes: Small, medium and large, suitable for dogs or cats.

About the GiGwi Place Series

Place is GiGwi's bedding and pet furniture line -- cushions, mats, bolster beds and cat houses, sold in several styles, sizes and colourways so you can match the shape to how your pet actually sleeps.

Who A Flat Mat Suits

• Pets who sleep stretched out on their side rather than curled into a ball.
• Older dogs and cats, who find a low open bed easier to get on and off.
• Warm rooms, where a hooded or heavily bolstered bed holds too much heat.
• Crates and car boots, where a flat shape fits and a bolster bed does not.

Choosing A Size

Measure your pet asleep in their favourite position, not standing, and add a few centimetres. A dog who sleeps stretched out needs a flat mat; one who curls up tightly is better off in a bolster or a hooded bed.

Good To Know

• Wash the cover on a cool cycle and air dry it. Hot washes and tumble drying shrink the cover and flatten the filling, and a shrunken cover will not go back on.
• Wash bedding every week or two, more often for a dog with allergies or a skin condition. Bedding is where flea eggs and dust mites collect, so it matters more than most people expect.
• A bed is not a chew toy. Puppies and determined chewers will open a seam and swallow the filling, which is a genuine blockage risk, so supervise a new bed before you leave a pet alone with it.
• This one is not described as waterproof. For a puppy or an incontinent older dog, the Sweet Dreams waterproof mat is the better pick.
• Not a children's toy. Keep it with the pet's things.
