Fish4Cats

Fish4Cats is the cat side of Fish4Pets, a British company that builds its food around fish rather than using it as a flavour. The Finest range stocked here is whole fillet in a light broth, in small 70 g cans — tuna or sardine paired with a second seafood.

The recipes

• Tuna fillet with anchovy, salmon, seaweed, green lipped mussels, prawn or crab
• Sardine with mackerel, anchovy or mussel

What is in them

• Fish at 54–65%, fish broth for most of the rest, and 4% rice
• 12–14% crude protein, 0.1% crude fat, 83–85% moisture
• No wheat, no maize

The one thing to know

The Finest cans are a complementary food, not a complete one. They are made to go alongside a complete diet — as a topper, as a treat, or as a way of getting more water into a cat that does not drink enough. Fed as a sole diet they will not supply the taurine, vitamins and minerals a cat needs.

The very low fat content, 0.1%, makes them unusually useful for a cat on a weight-control plan, where most toppers add calories the cat does not need.
