Cat's Best

Cat's Best makes cat litter from plant fibres rather than clay. The fibres pull liquid into the granule and hold it, so the litter is lighter to carry than mineral litter of the same volume, and it is biodegradable and compostable.

What's In The Range

• Original - clumping plant fibre litter, in 8.6kg and 17.2kg bags. Previously sold as Oko Plus.
• Smart Pellets - clumping pellets shaped to stick less to long fur and paws, so less litter is tracked out of the tray.
• Universal - non-clumping hygiene pellets for cat trays, small pet cages and bird cages.

Good To Know

• Change litter types gradually. A sudden switch can put a cat off the tray, so mix the new litter into the old over a week or so.
• Cat's Best says clumps can be flushed one at a time. Check your local rules, and don't flush if you are on a septic tank or have narrow or older pipes. Never flush the whole tray.
• One tray per cat plus a spare is the usual guide in a multi-cat home.
• Straining in the tray, crying, going outside the tray or a change in the urine clumps needs a vet - this is an emergency in male cats.
