The Three Special Mousse Recipes Do Different Jobs

• Exigent is aimed at the cat that refuses things. It is the same complete recipe in a softer, stronger-smelling mousse, and smell is usually what wins a fussy cat over.
• Light is lower in calories, for a cat that is carrying too much weight.
• Skin and Coat is the salmon recipe, carrying more oil.
• All three are foods, not treatments. If a cat is genuinely overweight, or is itching, or has gone off its food for more than a day or two, the food is not the first thing to change. Ask your vet, then ask us.

Wet Food And Water, Which Matters More Here

• A wet food is roughly three-quarters water. In this climate that is water going into the cat without it having to choose to drink, and cats are famously bad at choosing to drink.
• It also means you are buying water by weight. That is the honest reason a tin looks dear per kilogram next to a bag of kibble.

Opened Tins, In This Heat

• Cover an opened tin, refrigerate it, and use it within a day or two.
• Let it come back to room temperature first. Cats refuse cold food, and you will think they have gone off it when they have only objected to the fridge.
• Do not leave wet food down for hours in a warm room. This matters a great deal more here than it does in Italy, where it was formulated.

Good To Know

• Grain-free. Schesir does not state potato-free on these, so if you are specifically avoiding potato starch, ask us and we will read the pack for you.
• Cats are far more stubborn about new food than dogs. Put the new tin beside the old one rather than swapping the bowl in one go, and do not take one refusal as the answer.
• Coat condition responds to diet slowly. Give it a couple of months before you judge it, and photograph the cat now so you have something to compare against.
• Itching, bald patches or scabs are not a coat-condition problem and a food will not fix them. Fleas and allergies cause most of it. See your vet first.
