JUWEL MultiLux LED Light Unit - 80 cm

JUWEL MultiLux LED Light Unit - 80 cm is a two-bar LED light unit for JUWEL aquarium hoods, 80 cm wide, built as a direct replacement for a two-tube fluorescent unit.

Key Features

• Two LED bars where two tubes used to go: The straightforward way off fluorescent. It drops into the same hood and gives two bars of light, with nothing to replace yearly.
• Order it by the hood width: This unit is 80 cm. Tell us which aquarium you have and we will confirm before dispatch.
• Cooler than the T5 it replaces: Less waste heat into the water, which on a tank in an unairconditioned room in July is a real difference.
• Holds its colour: A fluorescent tube shifts spectrum as it ages, which is why plants stop growing on an old tube. LEDs do not drift the same way.

Fitting It And Running It

• Order by the measurement, not by the litres. Tell us which JUWEL aquarium you have and we will confirm it before we dispatch.
• Check what is in the box. On several JUWEL units the power supply is a separate item, and a light unit without its transformer does nothing.
• Six to eight hours a day to begin with, on a timer, building up over weeks. In a Dubai summer run them through the cooler part of the day.

Electrical Safety

• Keep the transformer, the plug and the socket above the water line and outside the cabinet, and leave a drip loop in every cable.
• Unplug it before you put your hands in the tank or work on the hood.

Good To Know

• Ask us whether the power supply is included for this length before you order.
• Going from tired tubes to new LED is a real jump in light. Cut the hours back for the first few weeks or you will get algae.
• Not a controller. For sunrise and sunset ramps you want a HeliaLux Smartcontrol, and we can tell you whether it suits your setup.
