Hunter Mini Calcium Milk Bone Dog Treat - 90g

Hunter Mini Calcium Milk Bone Dog Treat - 90g is a bag of small bone-shaped treats aimed squarely at puppies and small dogs - the ones for whom a normal dog biscuit is a whole meal. Hunter make them with calcium and with cell and yucca fibres, and say the shape and texture can help clean teeth as your dog works through one.

Key Features

• Made With: calcium, plus cell and yucca fibres among other ingredients. Hunter say these can support dental health and the digestive system.
• Sized For Small Mouths: the mini format is the point. A treat a small dog can finish is a treat you can use for training.
• Pack: 90g.

About The Calcium

• A treat is not a calcium supplement, and it should not be. A complete dog food already provides the calcium a dog needs, and the amount in a few bone-shaped treats is not meant to add to that.
• This matters most for large-breed puppies. Too much calcium while a big dog is growing is linked to skeletal problems, so if you have a large-breed puppy do not add calcium to their diet - from treats, powders or anything else - without asking your vet first.
• For an adult dog on a complete food, these are simply milk-flavoured biscuit bones. Enjoy them as that.

Good To Know

• This listing is the 90g pack of minis. The full-size Calcium Milk Bone is a separate listing, in 23g and 54g bones.
• Hunter's teeth-cleaning claim is about chewing, not treatment. Chewing can help lift soft plaque, but it does not remove hardened tartar and it is not a substitute for brushing or a vet dental check. Persistent bad breath is a reason to see your vet, not to buy more treats.
• Treats should stay a small part of the day - about a tenth of the calories is the usual guidance - and come out of meals rather than on top of them.
• Supervise your dog while they chew, and take the last small piece away rather than letting it be swallowed whole.
• Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry cupboard. UAE humidity softens a firm chew, which is what usually makes a dog lose interest in one.
• Fresh water alongside, always, and check the bowl twice a day in UAE heat.
• Hunter do not state a country of origin on this listing. Ask us if that matters to you.
