Hobby Clamp Lamp Protector Guard - 14cm (Art. 37107) is a protective grid that clips onto a 14cm clamp lamp, article 37107. It exists for one reason: reptiles climb onto warm things, and a basking bulb reaches a temperature that causes serious burns. A guard is the cheapest piece of husbandry equipment you will buy and the one most often skipped.

Why This Is Not Optional
- Thermal burns in reptiles are common and badly underestimated. A reptile does not reliably move away from something that is damaging it the way a mammal does, and burns to the back and flanks are a routine reptile-vet presentation.
- It also protects the bulb. A lizard that climbs on a hot bulb can crack it, and a shattered lamp in an enclosure is worse again.
- Fit it even if you think your animal cannot reach. They can. That is most of the point of a terrarium.
- A guard is not a thermostat. It stops contact burns; it does nothing about an enclosure that is simply too hot. You need both.

- This listing is the guard only, for 14cm lamps - the lamp and bulb are separate.
