Why Enzyme Cleaners And Not Bleach

• Urine leaves uric acid crystals that ordinary cleaning does not touch. They stay in the fibres and smell again every time it gets humid
• An enzyme cleaner breaks those crystals down rather than covering them. That is why it needs time and plenty of liquid, not scrubbing
• Never clean a pet accident with an ammonia-based product. Ammonia smells like urine to a dog and marks the spot as a toilet
• A dog can smell a spot you cannot, and will return to it. Getting the smell out properly is half of house training

Getting The Most From It

• Blot first, then soak the area properly - more product than feels sensible - and let it dry on its own. Scrubbing pushes urine deeper into the backing
• Use more than feels right. The urine went through the carpet into the underlay; the cleaner has to follow it
• Let it air dry rather than blotting it dry. The enzymes work while it is wet
• Test on a hidden corner first, especially on wool, silk and unsealed wood
