The Flamingo Dog Grooming Comb with Rotating Teeth, Fine is a 21 cm comb whose stainless steel teeth rotate on the spine, so they roll through small tangles instead of dragging at them.

• Each tooth turns freely on the spine. When it meets a knot it rolls rather than pulling, which is easier on both coat and dog
• Fine tooth spacing, which suits fine, silky and short coats, and is the right spacing for checking a coat over for fleas

How To Use It

• Work in small sections from the skin outwards, holding the hair above the section so you are not pulling at the roots
• Fine spacing is for finishing and for checking. On a thick coat, use a wider comb or a slicker first or this will simply stop
• Comb down to the skin rather than skimming the top. The tangles that matter form underneath
• Rinse and dry the comb after use. Rotating teeth seize up if hair and damp are left in the spine

Good To Know

• A fine comb is the standard way to check for fleas. Comb over a sheet of white paper and look for dark grit that turns rusty red when damp
• Rotating teeth reduce pulling, they do not remove it. A dog already sore from mats will still object
• Wrong tool for a thick double coat or an established mat. Use an undercoat rake or a mat breaker for those
• Keep the teeth away from the eyes and the inside of the ears
