How To Use It

• Start with the wider teeth and work in sections from the skin outwards, supporting the hair above the section so you are not tugging the roots
• Switch to the fine teeth only once the wide end passes through cleanly
• If the comb stops, do not force it. Work the tangle apart with your fingers or a mat breaker first
• Comb before a bath, never after. Water tightens a tangle into a mat

Good To Know

• A comb is a checking tool as much as a grooming one. If a comb goes through the whole coat, the coat really is tangle-free. A brush can glide over mats and tell you nothing
• Short-coated dogs still benefit, mainly for pulling out dead hair, though a rubber curry is usually kinder on them
• For a heavy double coat in shedding season, an undercoat rake will do more than any comb
• Take care around the eyes, ears, armpits and groin, where the skin is thin
