The FARMA Racing Special Derwa Hot Climate Pigeon Food is FARMA's hot-climate racing ration, an eighteen-variety mix the brand says was formulated with European champion Albert Derwa for birds working in high temperatures.

Feeding In Heat

• Feed the bulk of the ration in the cool of early morning and late evening
• Water matters more than feed through a Gulf summer. Put out more drinkers than you think you need and keep them in shade
• Grit, minerals and electrolytes alongside — birds lose salts through panting

Good To Know

• Pigeons have no sweat glands. They cool themselves by panting and by holding their wings away from the body, so shade, airflow and water are the real hot-weather tools. Feed only supports them
• Do not train or race birds in extreme heat. Heat stress kills pigeons quickly, and avoiding it is a management decision rather than a nutritional one
• The Albert Derwa attribution is FARMA's own claim; we have not independently verified the formulation work
• Store the sack sealed, cool and off a concrete floor. Grain that takes up damp grows mould, and mouldy grain makes birds ill
