FARMA Rabbit Special Mix - 800g

The FARMA Rabbit Special Mix is the 800 g retail bag of FARMA's rabbit mix — alfalfa, cereals, flakes and dried fruit, in a size a single house rabbit will finish before it goes stale.

• Built on alfalfa (medic), barley, corn, carob and wheat, with corn flakes, pea and bean flakes, puffed rice and paddy rice
• Enriched with dates, figs, raisins and banana chips, plus coloured croquettes made from cereals and vegetables including beetroot
• FARMA declares 13.0% crude protein, 3.4% crude fat and 8.8% crude fibre

Feeding

• Weigh the 60–100 g rather than guessing. A handful looks like far less than it is
• Feed it as a measured portion once a day, and do not top the bowl up until it has been finished
• Unlimited grass hay, fresh greens and clean water are the rest of the diet, and the larger part of it

Good To Know

• Hay first, always. A rabbit should eat roughly its own body size in grass hay every day. This mix runs at 8.8% fibre, where a rabbit's overall diet needs far more
• Muesli mixes invite selective feeding — rabbits pick out the flakes, fruit and cereal and leave the rest. That is the strongest argument for a measured portion
• The dates, figs, raisins and banana chips are sugar. They are what makes the mix attractive and the part a rabbit least needs
• A rabbit that stops eating or stops passing droppings is an emergency. Gut stasis can kill within a day — see a vet the same day
• Introduce any new rabbit food over one to two weeks. A sudden change causes soft droppings
